👋Meet Miss Klipfel

Having hiked to the white-capped peak of Mount Washington, spent the longest night of the year in the
📍National Geographic Headquarters
Norwegian fjords, and camped with Bedouins in Wadi Rum, I am an explorer by nature. These experiences, along with countless others, have inspired me to cultivate an explorer mindset in my students.

With bachelor's degrees in mathematics and elementary education and a master's degree in reading, education is my passion. I spent the first seven years of my career teaching 1st grade and I’m currently in my sixth year as a 4th grade teacher at Howe-Manning Elementary School in Middleton, MA. I’m also an adjunct professor at Salem State University, working with undergraduate and graduate students pursuing careers as future educators.

I’m dedicated to utilizing technology in innovative ways to extend learning beyond the four walls of my classroom and to empower students to be world changers. Whether collaborating with our JDO Foundation partner class in England, attending National Geographic Explorer Classrooms, working with a STEM author, or connecting with an aquanaut in the 60,000-year-old Underwater Forest, I strive to inspire my students to be global thinkers and foster their innate curiosity to explore the world's infinite knowledge.

I’m a National Geographic Certified Educator, 2020 New England Aquarium Ocean Stewardship Educator Award Winner, and now beyond thrilled to be a 2023 Grosvenor Teacher Fellow. I can’t wait to explore the most remote parts of Patagonia and learn from world-class experts to bring the world back to my students. When not in the classroom or exploring the world, you can find me coaching field hockey, visiting a new MLB ballpark, wakeboarding on the lake, or heading out for a run.
