Entering my 15th year in education, I'm a 4th grade teacher at Howe-Manning Elementary School in Middleton, MA and an adjunct professor at Salem State University, working with undergraduate and graduate students pursuing careers as future educators. With bachelor's degrees in mathematics and elementary education and a master's degree in reading, I bring a strong foundation in both STEM and literacy to my teaching practice.
I'm passionate about empowering young learners to solve real-world environmental problems through global connections and innovative teaching practices. I leverage technology to extend learning beyond the four walls of my classroom and help students explore the intricate relationship between global awareness, local action, and shared interconnectedness. By connecting my students with global partners, experts, and authentic learning experiences, I strive to inspire them to be global thinkers and foster their innate curiosity.
As a National Geographic Certified Educator and 2023 Grosvenor Teacher Fellow with expedition experience in Patagonia, and a 2025 Explorers Club Teacher Fellow who explored the Boiling River in the Peruvian Amazon, I bring extraordinary field experiences directly into my classroom through immersive VR technology and storytelling. I'm also a 2024 Boston Red Sox Most Valuable Educator and 2020 New England Aquarium Ocean Stewardship Educator Award Winner.
As a Fulbright Teacher for Global Classrooms, I continue to deepen my intercultural competencies, broaden my global partnerships, and enrich my classroom curriculum with authentic, cross-cultural perspectives that empower my students to act as changemakers in our interconnected world.
When not in the classroom or exploring the world, you can find me coaching field hockey, visiting a new MLB ballpark, wakeboarding on the lake, or heading out for a run.
